My buddy's son is 8 years old and shoots a NEF in 243..he had to scale the loads down considerably as well as install a decelerator pad on the gun. It had the synthetic stock and we just cut to correct LOP and glassed in a piece of wood that fit the inside of the stock so we could screw the decelerator to it. Not pretty but it works
