Default RE: External Elk calls

Elkcrazy8, I think turkey is more detailed, at least in comp. They ask for a sound and you reproduce it. You know what every body is going to do, you just have to do it better. Elk comp is a crap shoot, who is going to do what and to what degree. I make a set program to go on stage with and have it down pat. Then some one comes up with some thing you didn't plan on and you have to juggle it in. NERVE RACKING You will see some of that in Portland. Turkey calling I don't pay much attention to the other callers calling, because I know if I make a mistake I loose. Elk calling is more subjective, I listen to the other callers, so I know if I have to regroup. Where in NY did you hunt turkeys? I am from Syracuse. Now the big question, can you gobble on a mouth call?
