Default RE: Anybody own a Kimber?

Your not going to compare the Stock with that of a Kimber now are you? Brownings are not pillar bedded either and don't even compare the trigger. Price a Medallion grade or a STainless STalker in a WSM caliber and then price a Kimber and tell me how much real difference there is. Browning is a good shooter and probably one of the better ones no doubt but not in the Kimbers League. I think USMC is going to eventually get me to buy one of these if he continues with this post.
I won't even compare the wood stocks....no comparison at all, but the Browning stocks aren't ugly like some makes. I was only comparind the bedding of the recoil lug. Not being very familiar with Kimber I wasn't aware that they are pillar bedded. Either way I wasn't trying to argue a point as much as I was pointing out that other rifles offer similar for less money. I have no doubt that Kimber offers fine rifles and rightly so you pay for it. Just offering my opinion.

Why buy a Corvette rather than a Camaro? Both are fast and have similar features but one costs more. A Corvette has slightly better performance and more prestige, the buyer must really appreciate those qualities to justify the expense.

If we are compairing MOA, the Kimber will print a 1/4 MOA @ 100 yards measuring with a 3 shot group.

It is true that factory rifles have steadily improved in preformance which has put the heat on custom gun builders. 15 years ago we wouldn't be having this conversation because an average production rifle was considered excellent if it held 1 MOA or slightly better @ 100 yards.
I can afford the Camaro....corvette is way out of my price range! Just offering my opinion though.
