Default RE: Have you ever smelled a doe in heat?

I've never smelled a live doe. I have a harder time detecting the estrous scent, which, to me, has a sweeter scent, with a hint of ammonia.

I do have a nose for a musty buck. I've smelled 'em a couple times. I got a real nice one last year. I was still-hunting, and could smell really rank tarsal gland. Sure enough, I didn't make it ten yards, and caught him bedded about 20 yards away. His back legs were soaked with urine and his tarsal glands were really blackened.

He stunk to high heaven. That was the only deer I ever wish I had a truck to haul. He stunk my car all up.

I've got a few bucks in and around the rut, but he was the worst.
