Most guys would've dreamt up a whale's tale about how they stalked it down barefoot in 10 feet of snow. Honesty sometimes makes for the best hunting stories.

Strange that his tines are so short, given his really pronounced browtines. Nonetheless, he looks like a really nice-sized buck with no wasted meat. Bon Apetit

Last year, I saw a doe (twice) who was missing her left front leg from the "elbow" down. On her right front leg, it was snapped at the "ankle" and her hoof was actually pointing upward, and she was walking on the end of the broken bones. She used both broken legs to get around, and looked very malnutritioned. She was out of bow-range both times, and I never heard of anyone taking her. I live off a busy highway, so most maimed deer are a result of auto-collisions.
