Want to save coyote hide...what caliber?
I'm planning on trying to take a coyote soon and want to know what I need to hunt them with.
Being primarily a deer/bear hunter most everything I have will be too much gun. 30-30, 45-70, 44 Mag, etc.
I do have a .243 but read in a couple other posts that it would probably damage the hide too much.
Do I need to look for another gun?
I definitely want to save the hide.
Another question: how far out am I likely to shoot one? If it's way out then do I need something other than say a .17 HMR? I have little experience with lighter calibers so any advice is good advice.
