I would not put ice in an animal unless it is in plastic jugs. Water left in the cavity will cause mold (bacteria) to grow, and ruin your meat. If you have to rinse out the cavity with water, make sure you get a towel and dry it very well. If the cavity is wet, and and you cover with game bag your meat will spoil fast. If it is warm gut, skin, quarter, and get the animal to cold storage. I know this from experence.
