RE: 30.30 or 30.06
I've got a Marlin 30-30 and think it is a wonderful gun but I want a round that is more versatile for big game in Colorado. There are a lot of 100 yard shots here, but you also have opportunity for shots out to 300. I would go for the .308 BLR for versitility. I've been debating between the 30-06 and .308 for a while and figured that it still comes down to preference, but it seems like the .308 would suit you fine for your purposes.
