I have never purchased a pair of binoculars-seems I either inherited or won at DU banquets the ones I have used. As such I do not know much about optics in relationship to spotting scopes or binoculars-something as basic as what 10X40 means and what difference it should make to me-I hunt ducks, geese, grouse, pheasant, deer, and turkey. Used to hunt antelope and hope to hunt ELK next year. Can someone take the time to educate this uneducated fool on what the numbers mean and what I should look for-thanks
