When the antlers fell off, the skull plate broke as well. Apparently the guy took it upon himself to cut both antlers off at the pedicel. No problem, though. My taxidermy supply company sells artificial skull caps, which look just like the real thing but have screws coming out of them. These work great for shed antlers too. You just drill a hole in the antler base and epoxy it to the artificial skull cap, and there you have it! Ready to attach to the form.
