First let me say welcome to the board. I also make alot of my own camo and hunting clothes. I have found that if you break up the pattern with anything just so it isnt all orange that they really dont seem to notice it. Maybe your wife could camo it up some. Just to break up the solidness of it. Good luck with your son. You will make memories taking him. I know cause I taught both my son and my daughter too hunt and they are young adults now and dont hunt with mom like they use too, But I will never forget the times they did.
