RE: Anyone ever kill a deer with a .357, .44 mag, or .45 colt rifle?
I've killed white tails with both revolver and carbine in .44 mag. They work good out to 100 or 150 yds with the right gun & load. I've settled (for now) on the 240 grain Federal Hydra-shok hollow point for factory loads, as working best in both for hunting. I've tried the 300 grain hollow points but did'nt get as good a group with the carbine & the recoil really stepped up in the revolver.
