The pellets have a higher ignition point than loose powder does, which is why Hodgdon recommends using 209 primers. #11s work great with loose 777 powder, but I WOULD go ahead and convert to 209s if you are gonna use the pellets, as I did has some ignition issues with the old Pyro pellets & #11s.

Personally, I prefer loose powder since it's muchcheaper to use and you can customize your loads to a much greater extent than you can with pellets.


Back to the original question - what load for a Wolverine??? Here's mine:

300gr XTPs, SSTs or Precision Rifle QTs with 80gr 2fg 777.
350gr QTs or Precision Extremes with 90gr 3fg 777.
400gr QTs or Extremes with 100gr 3fg 777.
460gr No Excuses Conicals with 90gr 2fg 777.
348gr PowerBelt Aerotips with 90gr 2fg 777.
405gr PowerBelt Aerotips with 100gr 2fg 777.
