Thanks, all I really appreciate the info. I've been looking at a NEF single shot in the .243 or .25-06, upgrade the butt pad, buy some managed recoil ammo and put a nice scope on it.

Mike it will be for deer, she is currently shooting a youth model 20ga for Iowa but she wants to rifle hunt Missouri with me next year.
