I'm not good at judging distances either. I missed 2 does earlier in the season by using the wrong pin - went out and bought the Trophy Ridge pendulum and made a perfect shot on a doe the very next morning. It has been a real confidence booster for me.

The one I got allows you to move the pin up or down for ground hunting as well. I really like it so far.
