i had about ten seconds of legal shooting time yesterday,as i sat in my treestand watching two does and a couple little'uns when the herd doe blowed and ran off with the rest following her.I could see something in the swamp then it started making its way up the hill where i was perched about 25 foot up a pinetree. All i could see was a couple tines through the brush then it started grunting.I had my scope set on 2.5 i turned it up to 5 power and could make out a front leg and his nose i started praying please make a step forward and he did, when the gun went off it filled the whole bottom with smoke and i couldn't see or hear nothing i loaded my gun again but droped the primer twice .By the time i got the dang thing loaded and primed it was to dark to see.I sat there about ten minutes then climed down .I walked over to where the deer was but it had done got to dark to see and i had left my light at home.I got home got my light and was back at my stand in less than a hour but it had started raining hard and i mean hard,it took me about two minutes to find him ,he almost fell in his tracks the 300gr bullet blowed a hole all the way through both shoulders and got a little backbone also.He is only a seven point but i think i will get him mounted anyway. 19 3/4 inside spread the weight is only a guess at about 150 field dressed. A big thanks to knight rifles, and atec scopes.
