Default RE: Best load for a Knight Wolverine

Well, unfortunately your going to actually have to put in some work on this one brad. I have two knights and both shoot the most accurate load at different powder levels.

I suggest you start out with a Hornady XTP Mag 240gr .45 bullet with black sabot. If you plan not to exceed 90gr of 777, you can try the regular XTP .44 in a green sabot. Start with 80gr of 777. Shoot a three shot groups and then clean out your bore with spit, water or No13. Move up in 5 or 10gr increments. Don't go past 100gr 777 if your wolverine is older than say 1999 or so. You would have to call knight to find out the data. I know my wolverine bought in 96 you can't go past 120gr of Pyrdex ffG. I figure 100gr if 777 would be max.

Hey if that don't work, I suggest the 250gr Barnes Expander, and same thing as above working up your loads. These will be snug sabots but thats a good thing. Creates less blowby. Probably best to clean in between shots with barnes. Or you ain't gettin down the bore.

That don't work, try the 250gr or 300gr SST. You see where I am going with this. You just got to try it in your gun.

Next, you can try some 777 pellets.
