RE: remington ammo = junk
I am not a corelokt fan, because they did not give me accuracy. When I started hunting we had 3 choices for over the counter Rem, Winchester and Imperial...so being the rem corelokt was the worst I never ever bought anymore. I know there are tons who swear they are a great bullet for deer, moose or whatever but I have seen jacket seperations from the corelokt SP bullet to even consider buying them. Ok before you jump on me and say BS, we all have opinions and I personally base my opinions on my own experience. ie of the latest sepration (sept 04) was a 225 gr Corelokt Sp out of a 338 win mag, the shot was approx 100-125 yards perfect broadside on a young bull elk, the jacket was found on the entrance side sandwiched between the ribs and the hide...it actually was found below the entrance hole. The only evidence of the lead core was a few bits and piece. The elk scampered about 150 yards and required a second shot to put him on the ground, this bullet was fired into the neck area which was also a corelokt and it hit the spine but must have deflect as it exited out the juglar area, never found the bullet in this case.
So while it may be a great bullet for you cases like this have me saying no thanks, I'll spend a few bucks more and use what I know has worked in the past for me.
