Default RE: 5 Wisconsin hunters killed

heres the story from the star tribune:

At least five people have been killed and three wounded in a multiple shooting in western Wisconsin earlier today, authorities said. Others may still be missing.

The alleged gunman, a man from the Twin Cities area, was arrested this afternoon, Sawyer County Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle told KSTP-TV of St. Paul, Minn.

KARE-TV, Channel 11, and KSTP-TV, Channel 5, reported that a man dressed in hunting clothes went onto private property near Exeland, Wis., this morning. He did not have permission to hunt on the land and was asked to leave. A confrontation ensued, the man left and then returned with an automative assault weaspon. The man began firing.

One victim used a walkie-talkie to call for help, but when other hunting partners came to the scene they also were shot, KSTP-TV reported.

Five people were killed and three were wounded.

The wounded men were taken to Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Birchwood, Wis. One was in surgery this evening; another was in critical condition. The third man was airlifted to a trauma center in Marshfield, Wis.

There were unconfirmed reports that other hunters were missing.

Roads were closed to all traffic, including ambulances, as authorities searched for the suspect.

A man was arrested shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Authorities from the Sawyer, Rusk and Barron County sheriff's departments were involved in the manhunt. Authorities also asked St. Paul police to stake out two houses in the city, but it was unclear why
