Remington is the choice of many law enforcement and military units. Any weapon will kill a turkey but as for quality...that is a choice left to you.
Then why is a Mossberg 590 the choice of shotgun for the navy seals, marine corp and LAPD SWAT??? with the newer rem 870's remington changed some things in their manufacturing ( cut corners) in reality the 870 today is no better or wourse then a mossberg 500. Now a older 870 I will admit is a superior shotgun asfar as few features go compared to a mossberg 500. Dont over look mossbergs, there is nothing wrong with them my mossberg 500 has had over 10,000 rounds through it between turkey magnums, steel shot magnums, and field loads and it still fuctions just like it did new when I got it 10 years ago. My mossberg 835 has been a strictly magnum gun its my turkey and goose gun its had easily 5,000 rounds of 3" and 3.5" magnums through it in the 7 years I have had it. And it still funtions as flawlessly as the day I bought it. I have never had to replace any parts on either gun. both guns have hunted in both ends of extreme weather from -15 below zero and blizzard, sleeting conditions during waterfowl season to 90 degrees 100% humidity and heavy rain during turkey season I have put my mossbergs through hell and they just keep coming back for more, I'm not saying an 870 won't handle that kind of hunting life because it will it is a tough gun aswell. All I'm saying is don't cr@p on the mossberg 500 just because in your opinion the 870 is better.
