It's more of a "being proud of your animal thing"...

I know myself, I talk to ALOT of people about hunting... And when I tell someone about a deer that I have taken, they want to know about it... How Many points, weight, score, story, ect... If you never told anyone about a deer you take then you aren't proud at all...IMO...

And the score is just another aspect of that...
