Thought you guys might get a kick out of this. I had to work today so I wasn't going to be able to make it out this morning (Opening day in Mo.). I left for work about 5:30 AM and was traveling down a road surrounded by conservation land (no hunting permitted). I was thinking to myself that I should be climbing into my treestand right about now when all of a sudden......SMACK! A nice 8 point came out of nowhere and took the front end of my work van out. He rolled 3-4 times and just laid in the middle of the road. I collected my thoughts, pulled to the side of the road and got out. I got about 5 feet from him and he jumped up and took off. Talk about being a little startled. I waited until daylight and took a walk in the direction he ran off to but was unable find many tracks or a blood trail.

My day at work today is dragging now because all I can think about is seeing a buck like that coming toward my stand tomorrow. Just wanted to share my opening day experience with you all.
