With a gun, a shot to the red area you marked will drop them right now. You pretty much covered the back section of the shoulder blade and that is one devastating shot. That shot also works very well with a bow but you need a lot of kinetic energy. My combo makes about 85 lbs and that is plenty for that location. At least from my own experience.
