You don't really need a bone saw to open up the chest cavity. Stand with your feet on either side of the chest cavity facing the deer head. Find the exact middle of the rib cage. Put your knife in and cut tward the neck. As long as you stay in the middle it will cut pretty easily. I have done this for years and never had any trouble even on large bucks weighing over 200 pounds dressed.
