For up to 100 yds I would use 1.5x5 power scope. I perfer a lower power scope because I lost an elk because it popped out of the brush at 20 yds and my 3X9 scope was on 6 power and all I saw was brown. I have a 1.5X5 scope on my deer rifle and have had no problem with taking deer out to 175 yds with the scope on 1.5 power.
