RE: .300 WSM ( Good or Not )?
I just bought one, and like it a lot. Mine is a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in 300WSM. It's light, and I love the short action. I did have the trigger worked on, because from the factory it was a "crisp" 4 1/2 lbs, now it's at 34oz, but even with the trigger like it was I was getting about 1/2 inch groups at 100yds. Haven't stretched out there yet to see how it does at longer distances, but will let you know later. The reasons that I opted for this calliber are simple, short action light weight, and why not go for a calliber the equals the 300 Win mag, but has less recoil? It's much more enjoyable to shoot! And with the large spectrum of bullet weights you can hunt anything from varmits to the largest big game in North America.
