Default My Hunting Trip of 2004 (PICS)

I went on another of my annual hunting trip with my buddies here in Kansas. It was in total an 8 day hunt. Last year I had a huge non-typical whitetail at 22 yards but had my arrow deflected, along with a really nice and wide mulie that was within range but didn't offer a good shot. This year seen a lot of nice ones, with about a 50% of mulies and whitetails.

Well, on Saturday morning I arrowed a big mulie but was just a little high above the vitals, but confident I hit a little lung. The arrow made the loudest smack I've ever heard when it hit him, and it didn't have a complete passthrough. So the bloodtrail was poor and after a few hours of searching we gave up, unfortunately. My buddy arrowed a big mulie, it should go around 175 or so i'm guessing. But had a great hunting trip overall. Going out hunting here this weekend on some different river-bottom land, so hopefully I can get me a nice whitetail.

Here's a pic of my buddies buck.

And here is another where I just had to shoot something. I ranged this guy at 39 yards and put a feild-point through his juggler. He was probably about 4 lbs. It was an afternoon spirit-lifter after a hard mornings hunt.

And some of the land. It was some really tough terrain for hunting. Most people think Kansas all open area, but in actuallity Kansas is only flat in only some areas.
