Ok a question for you

You have also said for years there aren't any good bucks in your area. That your buck from last year was the biggest locals saw in years.
The buck I killed last year was on state land over an hour from where this "hole" is.

State land buck.............the odds of a buck reaching his size in the slaughter fields of public land are about as good as the lottery.

So when you say "area" you have to remember the place I am in now is not in the "area" I usually am talking about.

So here is my question.

Are you conceding to the fact there has been good bucks in your area all along? And you just never found them till now???

Not at all.

It has nothing to do with "finding" them. It's not like I am in the same place I always have hunted and only now have stumbled onto the deer. I am on a private farm with no hunting pressure. It is a totally different world.............and every buck I have seen would not qualify as "good" if I am guessing your standards correctly. Mostly 1 1/2 yr old 4 and 6 pt. The farmer says the biggest deer anyone ever took in the area is a 9 ptr about 6 years ago. There are neighbors on 3 sides and a road on the 4th and he says the gun hunters kill anything they see so while their are plenty of deer so far I really don't expect to see any big brutes.

If this land was managed for big boys they would be all over the place. However, that doesn't seem to be high on anyones priority list around there...........mine included.

I am just happy to have a place where I know their are deer and I can go sit in my stand in peace and quiet without battling 5 other trucks full of guys chasing after 1 deer per sq mile.
