Default Blazing Knives Can Take A Toll

As many of you know field dressing an elk can be a bit of an exercise.

We had 6 down on the opening morning and it looked like it was going to warm up so everyone was in a hurry to get them dressed, quartered, and into the shade of a tree. It kind of took a toll, myself included....

On the lighter side, a few photos....

If I can just get this head cut off.....

Oh, man.... I'm just gonna take a little break....
[Notice the "other guy" waits with his gun in hand, we see an inordinate amount of game "go by" when we are in the midst of field dressing....]

Now that we are done, all I want to do now is "cool my heels" a little bit....

It is all a lot more enjoyable and fun looking back on it now, but it was a little different at the time.... it has always been a concern of mine, "What happens if we get too many down, way back in, and it turns hot?"
