I recently purchased a Marlin 1895 in 45/70. I would like to replace the factory stock with either a laminated or synthetic version with a longer LOP. I have seen a few customized Marlins in articles, but am not having any luck finding the source of these aftermarket goodies.

Also, I would appreciate any comments on mounting a scope on this rifle. I have considered the scout style mount by XS with a Leupold M8 4 power, and also the VX2 2x7x33 on standard mounts. This will mainly be a close quarters rifle, bears over bait, blacktail and elk in our miserable Northwest forests (<100 yards)
