I just take my index finger and lightly wipe it across the wax in the can and then evenly spread it onto the case. You can tell when you have enough on the case by feel as the case will become slick to the touch. A little bit goes a long way and don't get any on the case shoulder as a dented shoulder may result. It is a slow and tedious way to lube I will admit, but I don't reload in large quantity, maybe 100 rounds at a time at the most but usually much less than that. I feel the Imperial wax is just a clean and efficient way of lubing cases, especially if you are loading in smaller quantities for extreme accuracy.
