Buckmaster's story
Did anyone read the story in Buckmaster's magazine about the guy who shot a 140 class buck out his window? Any thoughts on this?
I read that story in disbelief wondering how that would ever appear in its magazine. I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I found that story disgusting. In my opinion, I think it was unsportsmanlike and the so-called hunter didn't follow the rules of fair chase. What kind of chance did that buck have....NONE! Although it was legal and is in many states....Sorry...I don't consider that hunting in any shape, form, or manner. I live in the country and have deer, coyotes, geese, all kinds of game that I can shoot from the house or porch. Called in a coyote the other day to within 16 yards of the deck but in good conscious can't harvest that animal....it's just not fair to the animal in my opinion. These are my own personal ethics, but I wouldn't even consider that an accomplishment. That fella didn't earn that buck and I sure don't have any respect for what he did or for him.
I am a Life member of Buckmasters and will be forwarding my opinion to them regarding this matter. Although Legal....it doesn't make it right or fair to the game. You should have to earn your buck!
Geez, I could open the window & give my grandmother a gun to shoot a buck that way. Now does that make her a sportswoman or a hunter? I think not. Just makes her a killer in my opinion.
I consider that fella to be lower than the yahoo's that enter the woods for the first time that year on opening gun day. At least those guys are in the woods and if they only get one by sheer luck of being in the right place at the right time.
Sorry for being so negative with this. I know this is just my opinion...and maybe i'm all messed up in my thinking. What do you guys think of this?
