Default RE: Finding someone in your tree stand???What the .%^&$#

Private land or public can be two completely differnt issues.

I have private land I hunt with a couple buds and we hunt each other's stands all the time. Of course if you put it up you'd have first dibs but it just seems kind of horses--t if you wanted to hunt an area I've said I'm not going to and I told ya to carry your own stand down there and stay out of the one I built.

Even on public ground there IS ANOTHER SIDE TO THESE STORYS. I once hunted some public ground where one guy put up about 25 of those plywood and 2x4 ladderstands about 8 feet tall. He left these up all year, year after year until they rotted. Indiana law calls for those to be removed at the end of the season.

He thought he owned everything with in sight every time he put up another stand.

I can tell ya, no one is keeping me off 10 acres of public ground just because they dumped off five dollars worth of lumber there. He would come wandering in about 8 in the morning or think he was going to still hunt from stand to stand and run people off all day. Bull shirt kiddo. The law says first come, first serve. Wander in late and he's going to be the one moving on. I don't care if he built a thousand dollar condo.
