Default Looking for Easterns on the west side of WA

Do any of you WA westerners know a good spot to look for turkeys on this side of the mountains. I've hunted around the Johnson Creek area, but it is just too crowded for my liking. My friend was shot at out there, so I'm not really excited to head back out there. It also seems that the birds are concentrated on private lands. I'm looking for a spot with a huntable population of turkeys within a hour or 2 of Puyallup. I've heard there is a flock on Ft. Lewis, but I haven't seen or heard them personally. I'm hoping to talk the better half into letting me go to the NWTF Superfund banquet next weekend here in Puyallup so that I can get more info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
