RE: Rut weather
Actually yes, I am very concerned. The warmer weather will mean that most the breeding activity will be taking place mostly at night in the cooler temperatures. The breeding will indeed still happen, you just won't see as much activity during daylight hours. I've seen it before, I always take the last week of our archery season off work, the second week of Nov which is normally peak rut. One particular year I wasn't seeing the daylight activity that I normally do on that week because of the warm temperatures. So one night I decided to stay put after dark. Now I know I couldn't shoot but I wanted to listen and sure enough, well after dark the cut corn field came alive with deer running, grunting and I even heard a fight between two bucks....it confirmed that it was all happening, just not during daylight.
If the does bed and they will when it's warm, the bucks will bed right there with them.
Let's hope the weather turns cold...bad for sitting in a stand but great for deer activity.
