RE: New Stand On Our Land & Its Not Ours!!!
I ran into a similar situation 2 weeks ago. However I was the person that had put the stand on someone elses property. As Rob mentioned people don't always know exactly what property they own. In my situation I had placed my stand on a section of land that I didn't have permission for. However the guy that given me permission insisted he owned the property. I came to my stand one afternoon and found a note taped to my stand that informed me I was on posted property and that I needed to take down my stand. When I got home I called the number on the note to apologize to the landowner and after talking things over I ended up receiving permission to hunt his land. He gave me a number and asked that I put a piece flourescent orange tape on a part of my stand and write that number on the tape. That way he knows who the stand belongs to if he should come across it in the woods.
