Default Another good season

Although it isn't over yet. I still have a cow moose tag back in Fairbanks that I can try and fill over the Thanksgiving weekend. I passed a 30 yard shot at a cow back in Sept. since she was in a bit of brush, so hopefully I'll have some luck in a month and get some moose meat in the freezer.

I managed to take a fork horn mule deer in Oregon, and came close to taking an elk. Every day we got on elk, and twice we had 350+ class bulls held up about 60-80 yards. We got within range a couple of times, but shots just didn't present themselves. It was only a 5 day hunt, so next time I'll have to plan a little longer because it was just a matter of time before it all came together.

I went back to Alaska for late Sept moose and caribou and just returned home. On the 15th of October, I shot this bull caribou after a long stalk. We got in the middle of a migration of caribou, and had hundreds at a time passing by, but either they were a touch too far, or moving, so we waited patiently. I finally found a lone bull bedded up, and put the sneak on. I managed to crawl within 10 yards, and put a shot right behind his shoulder. He's not the biggest bull, but had a good rush going. We watched a couple of big bulls go at it from about 50 yards away skylined. I wish I had the camera rolling, but it was pretty dark out.

Hope all of you have been having a great season!
