Everyone has their own ideas when it comes to the definition of the "best". Comfort is certainly important. Ease of putting up the stand is a plus. Without a quiet stand you might as well go home. Safety, well that goes without saying.

One of the descriptions I find suspiciously missing is versatility! Have you ever found what would seem to be the perfect location but no straight trees to hang it on?? The "best" overall stand that I can think of after trying quite a few different brands is a couple from 'Buckfinder' products, the Scouter and the Sundowner! These stands will go in almost any tree.
