Trying to get into muzzle loading for a reasonable price. Cabelas has the beartooth mag for 150, w/ scope 210, w/ starter kit 190, and all 3 together for 240 which is a doable price for me.

Just wondering what everyone thinks about the New frontier beartooth magnum and the cabela's pine ridge scope. Also wondering if i'll need anything other than what comes in the starter kit, it comes with sabots, powder flask, bullet starter, powder measurer, straight line capper, solvent and parts cleaning basket.

One more question, would it be cheaper to buy the gun from basspro for 100 dollars and buy a scope and supplies separate? if so what scope do you recomend and what supplies do i need? also about how much will all this run?

Ok really one more question now, going to use the gun for whitetail, recomend 45 or 50 caliber and why?
