RE: Which mount for the Kolpin Gun Boot?
I have the IV boot and use the standard mount. I looked at the Boottector(sp?) bracket last year, it is pricey and wasn't to sure how the no wrench required (Plastic bolts) would stand up in the cold weather for late season or varmit hunting here in canada..so opted to save my pennies sticking with what I already had and steel U bolts JIC. Easy to remove and has worked fine for me.
When you buy your boot I reccomend to stuff the end(bottom) to take up slack so the force is on the barrel not scope. I use high density foam, a string to remove(for different length of guns) and wrapped in duck tape. By doing this I have never had a POI shift with the Koplin boot, but have witnessed others find these things out the hard way. Just a suggestion!!!
