Fritz, you may or may not thought of this and/or it might not be a legitamate suggestion but can you access the area your talking about by canoeing the lake. The way I read it your have to walk in from the west because of the mountain and the lake....could canoeing the lake get you where you need to be...it'd be quiet and you can skirt the wind. Just a thought I had....but I'm off topic cause I know very little about the scent drippers...just theories.
