Default The deer win

I just got home from my parents house. Had lots of fun, but didnt get any shootin'.
Friday poured down rain all day, so me and parents called it official beer day. The rain never let up.

Saturday morning my brother arrived and we headed to the stands 45 minutes before light. I got all set up, and waited for daylight. My brother was about 50 yards away from me, watching the field edge.
7:10 I turn my head and looked behind me, and bullwinkle is standing behind me about 75 yards, and he has a little buddy with him. They keep heading east, the wind was blowing hard.
7:30 I heard another "squirrel" behind me. I turn around, and there stands 2 bucks, one was a hawg, 15 yards behind me. No way to shoot that way. They ease into the woods, and disappear to the east.
Right about that time, the goose and duck hunters that set up right behind my parents woods let loose with about 50 rounds. I about fell out of the stand, it scared the crap out of me. We didnt know anyone had permission to be there other than us.
The turkey's decided to come out of the roost, and made enough noise to wake the dead. Must be the goose hunters woke them up. They came by single file. I moved one finger when they were 30 yards away, and they busted me. Pretty good eyes on those buggers.
At 8:30 I hear a crack, and look towards my brother. There are 2 bucks standing not 10 yards behind him. Probably the 2 I seen at 7:30. My brother gets urinated off when the goose hunters start running their dogs around the field, and decides to get down. Both bucks take off across the field he was watching. He never knew they were there, and never seen them. When I clued him in on what he just did, he was slightly, well......................extremely mad.

Sunday, the goose hunters started shooting earlier than on Saturday. They stayed out all day, and we never seen a deer.
This morning, I set up before light, and waited. It was real foggy. At 7:05 all hell broke loose. 2 bucks were beating the crap out of each other inside the woods. When they finished, I could hear them coming my way. The heart beat was up, and I was ready to go. Just before they broke out of the thick crap, those damn turkey's decided to fly out of the roost. The deer started snorting, and took a different route out of the woods.
So there you have it, my weekend in a nutshell. Definitely not the greatest ending to a hunt, but a good time none the less. Hopefully things will pick up here shortly, and I can see deer around home.
