Set-up Question
I'm planing to put my Out-house ground blind at the bend of a narrow logging road. Deer are eating the 80lb of corn I put on the road each week. At the bend in the road, half the loggin road heads north west and the other half, south west. The benefit of this location is a good veiw in two directions for my sons .243
My first problem is I don't know which direction the deer are coming from, but they're definetly walking the road to eat the corn. With this scenario, I'm thinking an east wind is best but I'm not sure. My second problem is, My son and I have to walk on the road coming from the NE to get to my blind. Will the deer be able to detect our scent on the road and get spooked? We're both wearing BoneDry rubber boots?
What wind direction do you think is best and will the deer be spooked if we walk on the road?
