Default RE: anyone jig for crappies?

I use crappie jigs all the time for slab cappies on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. Here is a little technique I use. Using a med/heavey fishing rod and 4 lbs test line tie your jig on. About 3 to 4 feet up add a 1/16th or 1/8th oz split shot weight on. Cast the jig out and let it sink to the top of the weeds. Then jerk the rod up quickly and again let it sink slowly retrieving the slack line. Continue this retrieve all the way back. The jig has a different look when the split shot sinks first and drags the jig down with it. Works great on gills and bass too.
