Deer can live longer than 8 hours on a gut shot(as you unfortunately are witnessing) I would take the dog again out in the morning and find your deer. Best of luck. Maybe run thru the tracking thread again to see if you can pick something up as well.

The deer will not live, you may want to believe that to ease the pain, but the deer is findable. I think that dog could help you out to find it.
