I had a couple of them. The first was a Savage Bolt action model 340. I had one of those in 30-30 and 22 Hornet as well. They were a cheap looking rifle but shot well. The other was the Savage over and under 222 over 20 GA. I used the 222 for deer for several years and never had any trouble killing deer with it. It was a target cartridge for the Army for a while. It was chambered in a Heavy barreled Remington pump rifle and was deadly accurate. Good cartridge but no better than the 223 or 222 Rem Mag.
