Unless the law has changed and I'm not aware of it....in MN you can go retrieve your animal on private property as long as your not carrying a weapon-just like Iowa. I thought this law was a norm across the country, but I guess not. Really doesn't make sense to me why it isn't. I have to give you credit though....calling your neighbor to ask for permission. I know I'd be in the wrong, but I would have just got my animal right away.
