You know that my bow string broke right at a month ago. The day I got it I shot 150 times. After shooting I noticed that right under the serving (in the middle/bottom of the string) was starting to fuzz. I showed it to the guy working and he put serving over it. That serving lasted about 100 shots then broke off. I took it back and he put more serving on it. I too was torqueing my bow and the string was hitting my forearm guard. Since then I've been griping my bow a little differently. Now I can shoot the bow with out my arm guard.

IMO, I wouldn't worry about your string this year. I would get a new one for next season.
