Don't know what kind of bow you are using but this evening at the local pro shop the owner told me that some of the more inexpensive bows are just loud no matter what you do. I use a Reflex which is one of the cheaper bows and it is loud. The pro told me that I would just be wasting my money trying to quiet it. Now, do we believe him or do we do what we can?
