I can add that I've not heard much positive about the 710. All kinds of negatives.

I'd go for the 300 win mag. It can be loaded down to the '06. But with similar sized bullets, the 300 is superior. It averages 250fps more speed, 400ft-lbs more energy and is 5" flatter at 300yds. This is an average with both shooting 180 gr bullets.

The 30-06 is a good bear and moose gun. But, from my experience the 300win mag is better. JMHO
